Variety Magazine reports that last month, musician Beck purchased a “well-maintained if dated and decidedly nondescript residence” in the Santa Monica’s North of Montana neighborhood for $2.711 million (via trust). Listing details show the property, a double-gabled Tudor-ish residence from the late 1920s, has 5 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms in 2,456 square feet. According to online resources, Beck paid $316,000 more than the published asking price.

“Beck…has owned and sold a healthy handful of homes in the Los Angeles area over the last 10 or 12 years,” Variety writes. These have included a “humble” 2000 sq ft 3-bed 2-bath in Los Feliz for $1,045,000 in an off-market deal a few months ago; a spacious, $2.25 million 1920’s mini mansion in L.A.’s Hancock Park in the fall of 2002, and several others.
