When I first started selling Real Estate in Beverly Hills, I had a few clients that had purchased homes in the Desert. One of them urged me to come for a visit so that I could relax – LOL! As most of you know, I’m not one to sit and relax much.

In any case, I wasn’t expecting much, but I was very surprised. I really enjoyed the blue sky and the warmth that was so different from Los Angeles. I stayed in La Quinta and Palm Desert, but from what I experienced, Palm Springs in 2004 was a little quiet and dated.

Fast forward to 2018, and Palm Springs looks VERY different. You see older people mixed in with younger couples, young families with children, new buildings, a brand-new hotel with the only rooftop pool and bar in the Coachella Valley (the Kimpton Rowan Palm Springs), new shops, and home prices going up for the past several years. If business investment/confidence is any indicator, Palm Springs could be a good investment, and certainly provide a much needed escape from the hectic life in Los Angeles.

Oh and the restaurants are charming and offer variety. You want something fancy, something French? A must-try is LA VALLAURIS! Some other favorites are Birba (for great Italian) and Spencer’s (for classic American with flair and a great patio). Many of the restaurants offer healthy organic foods as well as patios, so you can take your pooches along.

I’ve sold homes in the desert, and recently purchased one myself in Palm Springs. I have experience in La Quinta and Rancho Mirage as well. If you are going out for a vacation, I am happy to make recommendations. If you are looking to buy, I am happy to help or share what I know of the different areas.

Enjoy your summer and please keep in touch!

Best,
